While we manage to possibly squeeze another couple of weeks of sun in here in unpredictable old England, I thought I would show you guys one of my final summer looks. This is a little something that I wore to work at the theatre group a short while ago, but it was a look I thought I had to show you!
I spoke about the treat that is my (then) new tribal head chain in my Trip To The Zoo post here. I think I’ve pretty much nailed the Arabian Princess-esque appearance here. I can imagine a real life Jasmine, from Aladdin, looking like this hence the title. The blue and green tones are very rich and the shape of the garments, being a crop top and baggy trousers, replicates Jasmines look. I’m not usually one to mix two bold prints together in the same outfit, but I’m definitely expanding my wings on that front. Just look at me here clashing zig zag with a scaly reptile skin print.
I even straightened my hair for this ensemble, to show off my head piece to its full potential. I’ll let you into a little secret. It’s really hard to wear the dangly bit onto of my fringe. My fringe kept wanting to swallow it up! I kept my make-up minimal, and painted my nails simply too. After dousing them in the Model’s Own Hyper Gel shade Naked Glow, I applied a singular glitzy little gem to the centre of each nail bed. During the course of the day half of them did fall off though… I’m not trying to lead a new hand posing trend, I was just embarrassed at the naked-ness of some nails!
It’s a little unexpected, even to myself, but I am so feeling Chris Brown’s new collaboration with Usher and Rick Ross. New Flame has a really calming sound and I feel it hollas back to my childhood memories of Usher. It’s a little softer than the Usher classic Burn. I’m not really sure this Rick Ross dude is a total necessity to the track but, y’know, everybody’s got to be somewhere.
