Chances are that a lot of you have been fortunate enough to have had your childhood bedrooms eradicated, and renovated into a beautiful age appropriate boudoir. Well, this gal still sleeps in her 5 year-old’s self bedroom when she goes back home. Don’t get me wrong, I have all my grown up make-up, sketchbooks and colossal amount of clothes. But key kiddie features include a secret chair, bottomless-pit toy draw and the staple fancy dress box are still in my room. The glad-rags that live in the fancy dress box were usually cast-offs from family friends, so were way too big on a young Row Bow. But now I have finally grown into a few of the pieces. WooHoo, 4th clothes container here we comes!
This dress is one from the fancy dress box, and it is pretty fancy. Don’t you agree? The sparkling golden lacy design sits upon a crimson red slip. I always thought my shoulders were quite tall, but they’re not quite tall enough to wear the dress without an extra layer. Originally, I wanted to wear a crisp white shirt underneath the dress. But this relaxed, cotton shirt sits a lot better as it should seamlessly blend into the background of the look and allow the dress to shine! I felt the combination of the dress and shirt together looked quite folky and a little Marianne Faithful-esque. I’m not sure if she’d really have worn anything like this! What do you think? I added a big red hat, because why would’t you? With all the reds, golds and browns going on I adorned my lips with a wonderfully rich purple lipstick which even looks red in the pictures.

Thanks Amy. I'm not usually a hat person, but I do adore this one!
